Zoomed In : More Zen from Asus’s Zenfone line-up
Last year, Asus launched the Zenfone line-up which pretty impressive in terms of pricing/specs. This year they aim to sold more with the new Zenfone 2 and SURPRISE!! Zenfone Zoom. Also, suprisingly both of these device looks like another smartphone “inspired”.
At first glance, Zenfone 2 looks like just another 5.5-inch handset with 1920 by 1080 resolution and a plastic build plus a back mounted button which makes the whole look somewhat reminiscence of LG’s phone. The good news is Zenfone 2 packs serious power.
The base model, which priced around US$199, uses a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 SoC running at 1.8 GHz, paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The higher priced model comes with a 64-bit Atom Z3580 SoC at 2.33 GHz and will be the first phone with 4 GB of RAM.
ZenFone 2 uses a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 5-element lens and 5MP wide angle front facing camera. But if you really need a photography power, then you need pay attention to Zenfone Zoom. It’s basically similar to Zenfone 2 but it featured a 13MP camera with 3x optical zoom (12x including software interpolation) and a 10-element lens with an f/2.7 – f/4.8 aperture. It also adds OIS and a laser autofocus. But then again this device also looks like *ehem* Lumia.
Both of this device will be available around Q2 2015.
